ADBOULTON: Samuel Birch, rector, in 1691 took the Oaths of Allegiance, &c. 

ARNOLD: Edward Meek, clerk. In 1641 several men were indicted for stealing his hay; and in 1615 he and several others were indicted for a riotous assault on Gervase Sanford. Thomas Naylor, clerk, was indicted in 1629 for drunkenness. Edward Naylor, clerk, in 1629 indicted with others for a riotous affray. David Chadwick, clerk, in 1690 took the Oaths of Allegiance, &c.

ATTENBOROUGH: Gervase Dodson, clerk, with others was indicted in 1631 for riotous affray.

CALVERTON: James Stephenson, clerk, in 1656 was described as "late minister of Calverton ejected by the Commissioners" and as being destitute. (See page 119.) John Elliott, clerk, was indicted in 1661 for not reading the Book of Common Prayer.

CAR COLSTON: Samuel Bruncell, Professor of Theology, was indicted in 1681 for not repairing the King's way.

CARLTON IN LINDRICK: Thomas Benson, Doctor of Sacred Theology, rector, in 1632. (See pages 124-125.) Will Ashton, rector, and Joshua Newton, curate, in 1689 took the Oaths of Allegiance, &c.

CAUNTON: Richard Hughes, clerk, in 1624 was fined 6d. for a private assembly in his house (see page 134); and in 1631 was indicted for breaking the common pound. Thomas Salter, vicar, in 1689 took the Oaths of Allegiance, &c.

CHILWELL: John Mader, clerk, was fined 2/- in 1609 for erecting a cottage.

CLARBOROUGH: John Wildbore, vicar, in 1689 took the Oaths of Allegiance, &c.

CLAYWORTH: John Tunstall, clerk, in 1609 was indicted for an assault in the church; in 1610 was fined 1/- for an assault and affray; and in 1627 was fined 20/- for contemptuous words in Court. John Crumwell, or Cromwell, clerk, rector, in 1657 certified as to payment to parish clerk (see page 147); and in 1661 was indicted for not reading the Book of Common Prayer. CLIFTON [NEWARK]: John Smith of Clifton, clerk, in 1604 with others was indicted for riot and rout.

COLSTON BASSETT: Roger Jackson, vicar, in 1619 produced certificate of conformity of rescusant.

COLWICK: Wm. Aldred, clerk, in 1616 was indicted for wrongly dismissing a servant.

CROMWELL: Joseph Trueman, clerk, in 1661 was indicted for not reading the Book of Common Prayer.

CROPWELL BISHOP: Humphrey Reynolds, clerk, in 1627 was indicted for swearing in church, and in 1630 was indicted " for omitting prayers."

EAST RETFORD: Thomas Holland, clerk, in 1604 was convicted for shooting with hailshot. Joseph Watt, clerk, in 1619 was indicted for soaking flax in the River Idle. William Winteringham, vicar of East Retford and rector of West Retford, in 1689 took the Oaths of Allegiance, &c.

EAST STOKE: Richard Chimney, clerk, and others were in 1605 fined for riot rout and trespass. Arthur Bassett, clerk, in 1608 was indicted for illegal hunting. Richard Simney, vicar, in 1627 signed a Conformity Certificate. (Seepage 133.) Francis Clarke, vicar, in 1689 took the Oaths of Allegiance, &c.

EASTWOOD: Peter Lowlovell, rector, in 1689 took the Oaths of Allegiance, &c.

EATON: John Kirk, vicar, in 1658 sued a man for payment of small tythes due to him. John Smith, vicar of Eden [? Eaton] in 1689 took the Oaths of Allegiance, &c.

EDWINSTOWE: George Rigge, clerk, in 1634 was indicted for an affray. Thomas Bowes, clerk, rector in 1653 was ordered to pay £8 yearly to "George Rigge, clarke, late Rector." (See page 147.) Wm. Silverton, vicar, in 1689 took the Oaths of Allegiance, &c.

EGMANTON: Thomas Wright, clerk, with others was in 1619 indicted for riotous affray with a watchman, and for bad conduct in an alehouse. Ralph Worsley, vicar, in 1689 took the Oaths of Allegiance, &c.

ELSTON: George Lassells, rector, in 1689 took the Oaths of Allegiance, &c.

EPERSTON: Robert Squire, rector, in 1689 took the Oaths of Allegiance, &c.

KIRKBY IN ASHFIELD: Nicholas Crosse, clerk, in 1626 was indicted for certain opprobrious words spoken before a Justice of the Peace. Clement Ellis of Kirkby, Prebendary of Beckingham in ye Colledge Church of Southwell, in 1694 took Oaths of Allegiance.

KIRKLINGTON: Nathaniel Woolley, clerk, was indicted with others in 1622 for riot.

KIRTON: . . . . . . . . . Carborne, clerk, was indicted in 1653 for not administering the Sacrament for a yeare. John Amblett, vicar, in 1689 took the Oaths of Allegiance.

KNEESALL: Wm. Clough, clerk, his wife and another, were indicted in 1636 for riot and in 1636 Wm. Clough was indicted for extortion. Martyn Horberry, vicar, in 1690 took the Oaths of Allegiance, &c.

KNEETON: Joseph Hawkins, clerk, minister, in 1690.

LAMBLEY: Robert Kimbe'r, clerk, in 1623 was indicted for retaining a servant contrary to the Statute, and in 1629 he was fined 10/- for riot, affray and trespass.

LANEHAM: Richard Bradley, vicar of Lanam, in 1689 took the Oaths of Allegiance, &c.

LANGAR: John Featley, parson, in 1657 was the prosecutor in an assault case.

LAXTON: Wm. Rooke, clerk and minister of the town, in 1616 charged Hugo Clarke, gentleman, with bad conduct and for threatening him. Wm. Stevenson, vicar, in 1689, took the Oaths of Allegiance, &c.

LENTON: Robert Ollernshaw, clerk, in 1629 was indicted for being a night walker, and in 1635 for occupying a temporal farm.

LINDBY: Zephanias Saunders in 1627 was indicted for brewing without licence. Thomas Martin, rector, in 1689 took the Oaths of Allegiance, &c.

LOWDHAM: Thomas Goode, clerk, in 1619 was committed to gaol for using certain perilous words against the King. Charles Freeman, vicar, signed Sacrament Certificate in 1694. Zachary Hussey, M.A., vicar in 1689 took the Oaths of Allegiance, &c.

MANSFIELD: M. Rishton, clerk, with others in 1611 was indicted for riotously breaking into a house. John Sympton, clerk, in 1614 was indicted as a man of bad behaviour.
