THURLAND STREET.

THOMAS DANKS & Co., Ltd.

THE premises illustrated [above] are situated in Thurland Street and Lincoln Street, and form the Largest Ironmongery and Hardware Store in the Midland Counties. Visitors to these Show Rooms express surprise, and exclaim: "We had no idea that such a large selection of Modern and Up-to-date Builders' Ironmongery could be found in Nottingham."

Established about 1800 in a small way, it has continued to grow, keeping abreast with the times, and adding the different Departments as Engineering Science has been brought to bear on Special Trades comprised in this interesting business.

One of the specialities of this Firm is HOT WATER AND STEAM HEATING, and many large contracts have been carried out, both in this district, and in other parts of the country. ELECTRIC LIGHTING forms an important branch. An excellent Dark Show Room has been fitted up on the premises, where all Fittings can be shown lighted up. A notable example of their work was the illumination of the Exchange at the Coronation, which is shown on a subsequent page.

Gas and Steam Cooking Apparatus for Hotels and Restaurants is also an interesting branch of their business.

This firm has also large workshops in Sherwood Street, and; an Implement Depot at the Cattle Market.
